Correcting Misimpressions

After going back and looking at the blog, I think I may have overemphasized the photos where the boys look angelic. So I thought I would correct that totally wrong impression and send a few photos that show them up to no good. The hose picture with Sergey shows his true nature, I think, and the picture of Lonya pestering Sergey is totally typical (with much pestering back, too).
The boys had developmental screenings on Monday. Lonya was quite the star on his, and Sergey has now caught up to his age level, even verbally. In fact, both boys were described as being somewhat exceptional. So the boys are right on track and we feel totally lucky to be their mamas. However, as my mother has pointed out, sometimes we have to be careful what we wish for. Smart boys mean boys with ideas of things to do. And those ideas don't always coincide with the things we want them to do. Plus, both boys show a tremendous amount of curiosity in the world around them. Sergey likes to climb a little too much for comfort. And Lonya now totally gets both jokes and sarcasm. Even so, they still seem a little more innocent than their peers. I suppose that will eventually fade.
There is great sadness at the end of summertime fun, and now we have to think up things to do on rainy days and cold days and rainy, cold days. Wish us luck with that.
