Holiday Season

Thanksgiving was quiet, with just the four of us at home. Okay, quiet is a relative term now, with the boys... The dogs and cats offered to help us with the turkey too (we didn't take them up on it until after several meals of leftovers). The day after Thanksgiving, we went to our local town celebration Moments to Remember. The boys proved to be too young to appreciate the living nativity (except the angels giving out candy canes), but they did seem to like the lighting ceremony, the cookies, and the crowds. The absolute favorite, though, was the local dance troupe's selections from Swan Lake. Sery was totally fascinated by the ballet and has entertained us all many times since then with his version of the leaps and turns the dancers did. At two and a half, and with a sturdy toddler physique, it is a total stitch to watch.
The boys love school and seem vaguely suprised when we know some of the songs they are learning there. Jingle Bells is the current favorite. This past weekend we went to see Santa Claus. Lonya is into the whole concept of presents, though he has told us he finds it hard to be good all the time. Sergey is still suspicious of the big guy in the red suit. We're not sure he believes the naughty vs. nice story. Both boys, though are eager to go to Grandma's. We hope Grandma remembers not to put any glass ornaments within reach of an inquisitive two year old. Or four year old, for that matter.
