Spring in San Diego

In Search of Springtime, we left Ellensburg (where it snowed several times while we were gone), and headed to San Diego in hopes of warmth. Alas, the first day, at the zoo, it just poured down rain. But we were still thrilled to see pandas, a wolf right up close (held by a trainer), and loads of other exciting creatures. Sue and I especially liked the two grizzly bear twins. The boys were fascinated with the snake house. We did think the elephant exhibit was not adequate and were glad to hear they are giving them more space soon.

Then the next day we headed to Lego Land, where it was sunny, at least, if not warm, exactly. The boys earned a Legoland drivers license and a Junior Legoland Drivers License for their work with electric cars. You can see them sporting their new licenses very proudly. Also note the intense concentration on Sergey as he and Sue are trying to squirt spectators and other participants in the pirate ship ride.
